Ok so sometimes a framer has to be a magician! A customer bought in a huge swept frame and a somewhat smaller canvas and asked “can you make this canvas fit in this frame?”“Hmmm! I’ll try, some thinking time required I replied”
So here is what I came up with. I used a flat gold moulding that is available in two widths. The narrow one as was used to frame the whole canvas then the wider one as a filler down each side. The whole package was then fitted back into the swept frame with offset clips to keep it all together.
