Yes you can turn a silk scarf into a piece of wall art it just requires careful handling when framing.
To prepare the scarf I first covered a 5mm acid free foam core board with a natural brushed calico. The scarf was then carefully laced over this slightly padded board.
A mount was cut to slightly overlap the edges of the scarf and built up underneath to ensure the glazing didn’t touch the silk.
A natural wood look frame with UltraVue 70% UV protective, anti reflective glazing completed the framing.
